In 2008, Nike began a campaign of numerous lines to celebrate classic designs with retro-ed color patterns and appearances. The Dunk High, second to Air Force I and Air Jordan, has been famously dubbed as one of the most comfortable and durable basketball shoes ever created. Offered in three different colorways, the Nike Vintage Dunk High-Summer 08 Collection offers a modern perspective on the traditional design of the early 90’s. White/green, white/grey, and white/black color patterns are used with genuine leather and suede. The leather on all colorways has been especially designed and patterned to provide a worn, comfortable feel and appearance. The sole one each shoe is similar to shoe created with the first editions, a solid white color with black outsole portions visible on the bottom. White side panels are separated by stitching one each color with front bottom toe inlays and rear side panels colors respective of their particular color patterns (green, grey, or black). The black of this line is actually suede leather, providing depth and patterning. Colorway specific swoosh symbols are shown on either side as is tradition with High Dunks meeting in the back of the shoe with a single finger loop. The toe inlays of all colorways are solid white with symmetrical breathable air holes throughout, allowing the foot the ability to breathe while in use. Finally, each color offers thick white laces, giving the shoe the traditional and classic appearance.
