Manny Pacquiao’s “Lights Out” performance in the boxing ring against Ricky Hatton has recently gotten the boxer a very special honor awarded by Nike, a commemoration Air Trainer 1 inspired on that night. Now, the Nike family has crafted a second Nike Air 1 sneaker, which we see here, in more “patriotic” tones. A deep blue upper is set against a white shoe front; on the toe box we see a brighter version of the blue with partner colored laces and midsole. Red detailing on the heel and the mouth of the Nike Air Trainer 1 ‘Under the Hood’ – Red / White – Blue shoe add to the “Americanized” feel. A lot like the “Lights Out” design, these sneakers also have graphics etched into both the mid panels and the heels of each shoe, these match the subtle tones of yellow highlights on some stitching and around the trademark Nike swoosh.
