Nike Air Max 97 x AF 1 – Metallic Silver / Black Varsity Red

In 1997, Nike devised an ultra modern version of the Air Max 95. The celebrated success of the Air Max 95 by runners and regular street fashion enthusiasts prompted Nike to create an even better and more technologically advance sneaker. Featuring an entirely visible air sole, the Nike Air Max 97 x AF 1 – Metallic Silver / Black Varsity Red sneakers often resembled famous landmarks and rockets, signifying the shoe’s ability to produce speed and comfort while in use. After over a decade of wild success, Nike Designers chose to partner it with it’s most famous basketball shoe, the Nike Air Force I. The sole of the shoe models after the Air Force I, a solid white leather encasing the traditional Air Max 97 air pocket. A red outsole also is reminiscent of the Air Force I providing traction and durability in solid red. Several different colorways exist including sliver, white, silver mesh, and 3M genuine white leather. Each colorway provides a futuristic looking sneaker. The toe inlays on all pair provide breathable air pockets, designed to allow the foot some breathing room while in use. Uniquely, each colorway offers the same silver leather swoosh with white stitching, regardless of the patterning of the remainder of the Nike Air Max 97 x AF 1 – Metallic Silver / Black Varsity Red shoe to signify the design and line. Also unique, each shoe offers the same silver color laces, providing futuristic appeal and design to each colorway. In all respects, each shoe looks similar to the Air Force I with the sole and technology of the Air Max 97.
